Northbank Kitchen Service

Flat, per appliance, credited to the repair

$80 diagnostic

One number to get a technician to the kitchen. It is credited to the repair if you go ahead. No trip charge stacked on top of it.

Included The visit and the diagnosis Travel inside the 40-mile radius, on-site testing, and a named fault. Not a guess at the likely part.
Included A written estimate Written estimate before any part is ordered or fitted. Parts and labor itemised, with the lead time stated before you commit.
Credited Back off the repair Approve the work and the $80 comes off the total. Decline it and you have paid for a real diagnosis you can take elsewhere.
Not included Parts and repair labor Quoted after the diagnosis, because a fill valve and a sealed-system repair are not the same job.

Straight answer

Why no price list

Any shop quoting a fixed repair price sight unseen is quoting the part it hopes to sell you. A column that will not hold temperature might need a fan, a defrost sensor, a control board or a sealed-system repair. Those are four different bills.

So the diagnostic is fixed and the repair is quoted. You see the number before anything is ordered, and you can stop there.

What moves the repair price

  • Which part failed, and whether it is current or special order.
  • Whether the appliance has to come out of the cabinet to reach it.
  • Whether the sealed system is opened, which is EPA Section 608 work.
  • Whether a second technician is needed to lift a column or a hood.

EPA Section 608 certified technicians for sealed-system work.
