We find the fault before we quote the part

Built-in appliances give one complaint at the door for half a dozen different faults. We diagnose in place, in a fixed order, and put the number in writing before anything is ordered.

The order a diagnosis runs in, and why it is that order

  1. 01 Supply The circuit before the board. A shared or undersized circuit produces shutdowns, dead panels and phantom presses that look exactly like failing electronics.
  2. 02 Install The opening, the clearance and the vent path. An appliance short of depth or airflow cooks its own electronics, and a new part fails on the same schedule as the last one.
  3. 03 Air Frost, dampers, fans and filters. On refrigeration and ventilation alike, blocked or misdirected air explains more complaints than any component failure does.
  4. 04 Mechanism Pumps, valves, hinges, latches and seals. Measured rather than guessed: fill volume, incoming water temperature, door alignment, actual airflow at the hood.
  5. 05 Electronics Last, not first, and only once everything upstream of it has been ruled out. Boards are the most expensive way to be wrong about a diagnosis.
  6. 06 Estimate In writing, with the part, the price and the lead time, before anything is ordered. If the answer is that it is not worth repairing, you get that in writing too.

A column, a steam oven and a speed oven all get the same treatment: the cheap and free checks are exhausted before the expensive ones are quoted. Nothing comes out of the cabinet until the fault has been narrowed to something that genuinely needs it out.

What owners said afterwards

4.7 out of 5, across 28 customer reviews. Each one below is a single visit, in the words of the person who paid for it.
  • The extractor over our range had lost most of its pull. He measured the airflow, found the ducting crushed where it turns into the attic, and reworked that section. The difference in the kitchen is night and day.

    Georgiana Y.

  • Our speed oven tripped the breaker every second or third use. He measured the draw on that circuit and found a shorting door interlock, which he replaced. The breaker has not moved once since he left.

    Clemence Z.

  • The fresh food column climbed into the fifties overnight while the freezer beside it never moved. He found the evaporator fan winding open and swapped it, then stayed to watch the pull-down before writing anything up.

    Ramona T.
